MMy name is Ryan Cash. I live with my wife and son in Brandon, Mississippi. I am the owner/operator of HandForged by Ryan. The knives and tools I sell, I forge myself and I do all my own leather work.
I started making knives as a kid because I loved knives and I enjoyed making things with metal. I’ve been making knives in one form or another, since I was about fourteen, (thirty years ago). I got my first coal forge and anvil in my late teens and I’ve been perfecting my art ever since.
My dad was an auto mechanic and he supplied me with a steady stream of scrap spring steel and leaf springs. I soon learned that I prefer to use the high carbon spring steel for my knives and tools. Spring steel tempers well and is suitable for the different varieties of knives and tools that I like to make.
I’m proud to carry and use my knives every day and proud to offer quality handmade knife options for people who want to enjoy my art.
My goal is not only to sell a collectors piece but also a quality blade or tool that can be used for years to come. I hope you enjoy looking through my work and if you decide to purchase one of my pieces, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
